Derbyshire 150

Postby Tractorman » Sat Aug 19, 2017 8:12 pm

Thank you once again to the LCGB Committee for another excellent members rally. The Derbyshire 150 was an excellent jaunt around the Pennines which was only spoiled by the weather particularly as we went over the Snake Pass. The campsite and catering was very good and the atmosphere amongst the members taking part was excellent. Roll on another such event.

Absolutely agree, this is a tough event not for the faint hearted, but well worth doing-spot on, great value as well.

David I didn't get to speak to you afterwards, did you bypass that single carriageway section or attempt it with the sidecar?

Hi Steve, we decided not to try it, the fact it was peeing down I think swayed it :!: Thanks for the alternate route.

I missed the last Derby 150 but glad I could make this one. Cracking rally despite the wet weather...some challenging riding in that weather, especially Snake's Pass. Well done to the organisers, they did a great job

What a fantastic event the Derby 150 is. Thoroughly enjoyed riding my Cometa around the route. The weather did nothing to dampen the event at all. Thank you to all the organisers for all your hard work and effort put into making a perfect weekend. Campsite, food, venue etc spot on. Marks out of 10. i'll give it 11.

Thank you Waddo.

He he he... ;) Massive thanx to Ste, Mandy, Toot & everyone who was there behind the scenes to make it possible. Also, as Jarv said a big shout out to Linda for above & beyond navigational skills those single track roads were hugely grin inducing! & a general 'Hello' to everyone met along the way, the vibe as always was great :) Pictures to follow once someone sorts out my new lap top/techno twattery...

Or 3 of us misinterpreting her rotating hand signal as keep on going rather than turn around lol. Still it gave me a chance to bond with Robbie and Andy BLC for an hour or so and get some nice photos 8-)

Although a blown piston ended my ride early I still had a great weekend. I'd like to thank those who stopped to offer assistance (Steve G and Toot) and to Paul Price picking me up in the back-up van. I completed the route with Paul in the van and I must say it looked a cracking ride. Hopefully I'll get to do it next year. Big thanks for everyone's hard work organising the event!

Steve G,

Did I spot an LCGB official photographer at the side of the road, whilst ascending the Via Gellia?

We saw him twice, on both the outward and homeward legs...can't remember the exact locations though
