TSR/SSC stainless steel DJ style exhaust

Postby Tim_Craig » Fri Sep 08, 2017 10:04 am

Has anyone used one of these exhausts on a TS1, or anything else for that matter.
I like the look of them but have no idea on performance, pro's & con's etc.

Any info/help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Tim.

I can't answer your question directly, but I have an original DJ that I'm running and was thinking of replacing it with a stainless version. I was advised against it as the stainless steel retains too much heat compared to mild steel, which can make the exhaust port too hot.

No idea if this is much of an issue, or whether you can replace the stainless manifold with a mild steel one? I will say this though, mine is not especially quiet!

Thanks for the info Eddie. If the performance is ok I would still give one a go.

I tried one on my iron 200. Build quality looked good and fitted ok. I was after an 80s lookso wasn't out for balls out performance but I didn't like it. Killed my power but I've read others have tried it and got on with it so don't just take my word. Shame it's not an actual "copy" of a DJ rather than a"style".
