Series 1 - 1958....re-registered in 2008 with an age related plate (3 numbers, 3 letters)....I've run without MOT ever since the test was dropped for pre-1960 vehicles, but received my (exempt) tax renewal form yesterday only to notice "THIS VEHICLE NEEDS AN APPROPRIATE MOT TEST CERTIFICATE" under the vehicle details & above the payment-fees-where-applicable panel.
Is it MOT-able because of the re-registration in 2008, or still exempt and this is just something standard to the form?

Don’t you have to apply to have the exemption? Ie it’s not automatic even if the scooter could qualify.

No not for MOT exemption, you're thinking of "Historic Vehicle" as the taxation class - that isn't automatic and has to be applied for.
