Anyone ever tried using a bonnet pin as a different option to a camlock for securing Panels. Obviously it's on a custom bike not a restro

I have a Silver Special with roller type handles.
I put a thread each side of the bracket. (5 minute job if you have access to a suitable die)
I cut a suitable piece of rubber and put a hole through the centre.
I put this on the end of the bracket after fastening the panels and then fit a nyloc nut.
Not fool proof but will put off or delay anyone after your panels

I do similar on my series 3,only instead of a nylock nut, after fastening mine I fix a jubilee clip to the end of the panel bracket. This is also not fool proof but I figure that after trying my panels the theif will move on to the next one rather than risking getting caught laying on his back trying to unfasten the jubilee clip.
