HELP plse fitting S3 stainless legshield trim

Postby Dobo » Sun Aug 31, 2014 11:21 am

Hi guys, without too much fore thought I purchased some legshield trims. On receipt I realised that fitting was not going to be that straightforward!? I removed the legshield rubber edge beading and offered up the stainless trim . . . no that isn't going to be easy! There has to be a trick or two to aid fitting, so those who have done it PLEASE, please your advise will be much appreciated. Thanks in anticipation. Ian.

I thought you had to cut the lip off your legshields to make stainless trim fit

No don't cut the lip off as you will never be able to go back to rubber trim. I used cling film and lots of grease on my S1, horrible job but have patience and you will get there. One side went on easily for me but the other side was a right pig,

OK thanks for the info so far guys. There seems to be some consistency with 'clingfilm' and grease . . . but what's this 'leggys' mentioned by you Jaz? Is that some old rubber edging or what? All HELP appreciated. Ian.
