Hi Any tips anyone regarding respraying of an exhaust (JL3)? Looking for black, but when I had this coated before (Special paint, because of temp) it was great for a few miles then burnt off!
Heard this is the same sort of problem using BBQ/Woodstove paint as well, any tips?

the B&Q black bbq paint seems to work quite well, but the problem is ensuring a rust free surface for it to key to.

Wire brushed mine first to remove any loose rust, painted with rust treatment to stabilize, then sprayed with high temperature exhaust paint. Still looks good 12 months on!

I’ve always used engine enamel for my pipes.
Bit stinky for a few miles but lasts pretty well

Here’s a pic of the last pipe I did. 48mm reverse cone clubman.
Had it shot blast first then sprayed straight onto it.

Halfords do a paint which goes up to uber hot (for car manifolds and exhausts) ;silver or black. I've got a clubman I did in silver about a year ago (3000 ish miles) still looks great.
