Terminal crimping tool recommendations?

Postby davla » Sat Mar 17, 2018 3:05 pm

Can anyone recommend a crimping tool and quality connectors that'll give factory quality crimps on the terminals. I've bought 4 crimpers so far and none of them do the job properly

The problem is one manufacturer makes the crimps and another makes the crimping tool. Buy a tool made buy the crimp manufacturer.....or vice versa.

Alternatively....and better, solder the crimps.

+1

I use this stuff and have done on all sorts of bikes and cars for many years. Nice quality.

If you're really fussy about crimp integrity (I am), then flow solder into every one and dip in grease before connecting.

Cheers guys, I’ve ordered the crimping tool you’ve recommended from Amazon and I’ll see how it goes.

I have this tool (or it's twin) - purchased from Knowledge in the kit he used to sell but don't know if he still does. Excellent job, but then you would not expect anything less from Martin!

Thanks for the mention, but I no longer sell them. However, I would recommend this tool.

You can get it from Vehicle Wiring Products, or Rapid online. Both do terminals too (VWP range is excellent, and delivery service excellent too)
