Hello folks, what do all reckon ?

A couple of weeks ago all the lights were working. Cranked her up last night, ignition on first notch, starts no problem. Second and third notch nothing, no lights !

Bloody lambretta's they are a real pain in the arse at times.

Any thoughts please .

what about horn and brake light ? plus what system/wiring have you got battery, full dc, etc

Nothing working at all, no brake light or horn . Electronic ignition no battery. Casa ignition switch I hope it isn't that, virtually brand new. Like I say everything worked a few weeks ago .

Start at the back of the scooter. Normally a brown wire carries the lighting and horn power up to the headset; depends upon the model. Measure voltage here or strap a length of wire to it and see if you can spark it to a good earth.
Could well be coil failure on the stator. Need more specific information.

Have a go at the bits below, PM me if you need more info as this is a general guide and I dint know what your set up is
From the Info you have given
It's Either the Main Frame/engine earth or there isn't a main supply.
Check and clean and remake the main engine earth. If this doesn't cure the problem then look at the main supply.
4 main options,
1) Your stator Flywheel system has a fault
2)Your regulator is faulty.
3)The supply wiring is open circuit
4)The supply wiring is short circuit to frame
The basic idea here is to isolate each part of the circuit to isolate the fault.

Disconnect the regulator output circuit and see if you have a supply voltage on the output pins of the regulator
If you do then it's a wiring open circuit or short circuit upstream of the regulator,
Otherwise, Disconnect the wire on the regulator input and see if you have supply voltage
If you do then it's something to do with the regulator ( try bypassing it and see if the fault clears)but remember if you rev the scoot you may blow bulbs)
Otherwise disconnect the stator lighting output and check for supply voltage,
if you do then you need to check the continuity of the wiring upto the regulator connections this is where the fault is
Otherwise the fault lies with the stator/Flywheel and and it's associated wiring.

Wiring open/short circuit.
If the regulator is giving an output on its pins with the output wire disconnected then either there is an open circuit in the wiring and connections or there is a short circuit to the frame somewhere. Reconnect the regulator output and try the following, when you are doing this look for broken, damaged or loose connections or connections touching the frame.
access the headset and disconnect the supply wire, do a continuity check between the supply wire and the frame
if it's a dead short then the supply wire is touching the frame somewhere,
Otherwise test the voltage and see if there is supply volts, if there is then there is a short in the headset and the back brake should begin working again.
If there isn't supply volts you have bad connection or a broken wire.
check the wiring at the back brake and anywhere else you can see, look for loose connections, broken wires and any kind of mechanical damage

This won't find every fault but it will help.

If you have a battery disconnect it, it only confuses the issue

Thanks for all your help gents it's appreciated. I've not had a good look at it yet, not had the time ! Just thought it was strange that nothing is working now in the way of lighting. Gonna give it a looking over hopefully at the weekend.

Bit of an update : )

Managed to have a quick look yesterday in between the kids having there T, and the wife coming in.

I now have a brake light and horn, which is great, part way there. Still no side lights or headlight !

Had the headset top off, things look as tidy as ever in there, just cleaned the blue and red bullet connectors up for good contact, not had a chance to fire the scoot up to check yet.

That where I'm up to now, making progress

Obviously in the short time available you ran the engine to test what you had found.
But it sounds promising.

Try bypassing the ignition switch lighting circuit and see if you can get the head light to work.
Take photographs of the wiring so it can undo any changes you made.

I noticed that the frame to engine earth wire was a tad loose, and nipped up the earth on the regulator. Just need the headlight now.
