I did a search but most posts seem to be about running in a new kit of some sort.
I've replaced the piston and rings in my Lince, checked the clearances and ring gaps on reassembly and all good on the original bore (original speedo says 4077km) so I've fitted a replacement Mahle O grade piston and rings.
How long would you expect the run in to be and what regime?

For me it would be the test blast to end of the street and back.

The first thing I always do at tickover is to increase the rpm once warm almost to maximum and continue to rev it up and down for a few minutes. It's not going to sieze.
Then I ride briskly but never under load (4th gear at 25mph or ip an incline) keeping it revving nicely. New piston on old bore I run in for about 100 miles.

Cheers, will give it a few local miles I think just to let everything settle in as I've built the whole thing back up from scratch - see what shakes loose

Interesting read thanks, you have to wonder though in that model if new rings will ever bed in on an old bore?

Very true, we know they do.
There must be a point where the cylinder is glazed and it either needs a hone or a bore.
I run my rings in for 100 miles, split 30/30/40. Short journeys to heat cycle. Longer journeys varying speed then normal riding but not flat for long, but that’s my choice and I’m no expert.

I don't know. Reading some of the information on running in I think I must have been doing it wrong the whole time. I'm not so afraid of it as I was though, and nowadays I realise the value of using the engine more freely. It's a natural instinct to baby it, but that's not all that good for it. What I tend to do now is build it up bit by bit in something like 200 mile increments and occasionally push it for a couple of minutes before letting it settle down again. So, steadily build the speed up and give it the odd blip on the throttle. Works well for me.
