Chrome ring

Hi I own a early 1965 Li 125 Lambretta series 3 can anyone tell me weather the early 1965 series 3s were built with the chrome ring or did they not have one that year

They changed from chrome ring to non chrome ring in May 1965.

Why did they use a chrome ring, what is the idea behind it.

As far as I can see,its just for the steering lock.

Turn it round, why did they stop using chrome ring?

A: Cost

Easier and cheaper to weld a little stop on the frame tube.
