Series 2 brake cable routing

Postby Brooksmeister » Wed Sep 04, 2019 6:38 pm

On a Series 2, can anyone tell me the original routing of the rear brake cable in relation to the cable clip that's attached to the choke. Does it go through the clip or not?
Many thanks

If you are referring to the metal cable ties for the loom, I haven't put either the choke cable or rear brake cable in any. The rear brake fits into the retaining hole on the frame and then runs flat along the back of the crank case. My choke cable curls through the gap between the air box and fuel tank. Hope this helps as is what you are asking.

This is how I did mine.

Although it’s close it doesn’t touch the HT cap.

Not directly but it’s been like that for over a year and 1000 miles.

Thanks Hornbyfrog123 but I was really after seeing if the brake cable went through the metal clip that is connected to the choke mechanism on the series 2 and early series 3s.

Thanks SmallWheels. This is how I have it set-up now and it seems okay.

Looking around the web I could see some people seem to have it in the clip and some do not. Hence the question?
