Engine mount replacement

Postby berniek » Thu Sep 25, 2014 3:50 pm

Anyone got any good or poor experiences with the various new engine mounts available. Replacement is required soon and I want some feedback from real users please. Motor is a TS245, so any feedback from similar is appreciated.

Thanks

Usally fit the SIL 3 hole ones not really had any issues with them apart from one collapsing coming home from Darlo last year then again they had been in @ 3 years of Rally miles , but decided to try the BGM ones in my Series 1 this year, a bit of a tight fit in the casing but noticed a reduction in Vibration from the sil ones only had them in @ 6 months but look good so far.

Funny you should say that Toddy as a few people I have spoken to have had worse vibrations with the BGM ones including my mate Chris,

I put Scootopia mounts in mine earlier this year after some indian ones id had in there for a cpl of years.Used it like this for a cpl of months but i couldnt hack the increased vibration, plus it was shaking the scooter to bits! Bought some cheap ones off ebay but they arent great tbh.I think SIL ones for me next time.

I also have tried other mounts and have ended up back with SIL.

I've gone through all availiable engine mounts :( .....haven't found a decent pair that lasts more than 6 months ...considering the the originals lasted 40 years ;) I've got the latest Scootopia ones....that haven't been fitted as yet...
