Key for Series 2 toolbox

Does anyone have a toolbox lock key number 317 knocking around? I know there are a number of dealers who sell them but they end up costing about 30 quid each which is just ridiculous for a key when I can get a repro lock for the same price. My other option is to replace the lever/barrel mechanism but I can't get the old one out. I've removed the circlip and catch, and the lever/barrel rotates easily, but it won't come out...is there something I'm missing?
