How can you tell if a cdi unit is failing on the move.
Thanks in advance

This is true, I carry a cheap cdi that I bought new off ebay earlier this year for £4.99 including postage. I connected it up to my scoot temporarily and it worked a treat. Removed it, wrapped it in bubble wrap and put it in the tool box for the next time I'm having starting/running problems. 2 minutes swapping wires over will prove or disprove the CDI 8-)

Ah, now I would have a problem with that, I have a theory that a lot of cdi failures are down to vibration so I have mine mounted on an ally plate attached to the frame above the rear mudguard on 2 small exhaust cotton reel bobbins. So far in 8 years, the only failures I have ever had were down to an electrical fault in the loom. That's why my spare is in bubble wrap in the took box 8-)
