series 2 wiring dilemma

Postby HxPaul » Wed Nov 05, 2014 3:08 pm

I have a series 2 that I'm building.I have decided to use a 12v system and instead of a cut out button I've decided to use a three position ignition switch,on,pilot light, headlight.I'm also using the series 2 handlebar light switch for dip, main beam and horn. What I would like to know is,which wire would be the main feed to the switch,I know that red and blue are dip and main beam and white is the horn, which leaves, black, brown, yellow and purple,of these four which would be live,or do I conect them all up to the live feed.

I have it on my S1 and my S2.

A multimeter is a great help when messing aroung with electrics.

Thanks for all the answers.I have stickys manual but its for slimstyle scooters and none of the wiring diagrams show the series 2 handlebar switch that I'm using.I'll try using a multimeter and see if I have any joy.

The headset is away being painted at the moment. When I get it back from the painters I'm going to try wiring it as per the diagrams sent to me in a PM from Captain Pugwash.
