Mk 1 Bambini

Postby Skippy » Thu Nov 06, 2014 3:58 am

Not too sure if this is the right area to post this, but, I have finally completed sourcing everything to fit my Mk 1 Bambini to my Series 2, except for a couple of fasteners which I had assumed would be the least difficult things to find. I need to find the correct 4 bolts to hold the two piece frame tube clamp together(the bit that grabs the scooter frame tube), and the correct 2 bolts to secure the pinch clamp part of the same piece. All or a sample of either would be great, but just the specs so that I can make them would also be greatly appreciated too.

Are they 'special' or just bolts?

Apparently, yes, they are a special shoulder bolt peculiar to the original clamp unit, Ansons told me using normal bolts may cause the clamp to bend/snap rather than pulling down uniformly due to the precise fit of the shoulder in the cast holes? My kids are going in the sidecar so I need to get it right. I even tried Watsonian direct and they do not even hold the drawings for it, although they are aware of its need to be exact in size and shape too.
