Lay shaft O ring

Postby pip » Fri Dec 26, 2014 5:05 pm

Just wondering if the O ring for a indian G.P. 200 lay shaft can be sourced from any where else besides a scooter dealers i.e. B&Q and what size are they if they can be. I need one asap and if I could get one local it would be a big help rather than having to order one and wait.

You should get one at most bearing and seal suppliers or hydraulic repair shops.

As Gaz says any car repair garage will have a box of assorted o rings. I'm sure a friendly mechanic will sort you out a couple. Best have a spare in case it catches as you assemble the lay shaft into the bearing. I always put a smear of grease and twist the shaft as it goes in.
