Spanish enginecase neutral light

Postby Captain Pugwash » Sat Feb 28, 2015 9:22 pm

Finally got to fit this

Image

I though it would be simple put it into the casing and bolt it up. no because it sits too deep and catches on the Selector.

so I had this phosphor bronze bush machined up.

If anyone else has a similar casing and wants to fit a neutral light this is what I had machined up.

Same Bush when it's fitted into the casing.

This allowed the sensor to be fitted to the correct depth and work as it should.

With the senso just touching the selector arm when it's in the neutral position.

Hi Toddy,
I wasn't too sure at first but it looks like either the casing recess is bored too deep or there should be a bush fitted in there that just wasn't there, and it wasn't supplied with the sensor.
I'm sure others must have seen it before as I have two late Spanish 200 casings that are identical and the sensor just sits so deep that it catches on the selector and its preventing the selector from moving.

Just thought I would post up exactly what I did as a fix the pics give all of the measurements needed, that's if anyone else has a similar casing to mine and had the idea of refitting a neutral light to their own Spanish engine casing.
