Need some nuts...ooh misses

Postby Freight10 » Sun Mar 15, 2015 12:42 pm

hi guys,

Just getting to the end of a workshop I've finally had built, I have most stuff but wanted an assortment of nuts and bolts for the scooters..mine are all s3,

I in the past I just ordered or went to the scooter shop and brought what I needed,....anyway..

Does anybody have any ideas what sizes and threads would be a good place to start for the most common (loosable) nuts and bolts so I can keep a storage for my after rally checkups and replacements

Thanks

Trevor

I'd stock up with a selection of -

M5, M6, M8 standard and nylock nuts and mixed bolts or set screws in the standard metric coarse thread for each.
Bolts from 10 - 50mm, you can always cut them down if they're too long.
Plain, spring and wavy washers in matching sizes.
M7 exhaust nuts
Spares of all the specific nuts for axles, shockers, engine bolt etc.
A couple of gasket sets.
A few cable trunnions.

You can have most of the fasteners off eBay in bags of 50 quite cheaply.

Most of my regular size nuts and bolts come from screwfix.

Cheap as chips, and stainless grades available too.
