Fuel consumption

Postby coaster » Tue Aug 25, 2015 6:06 pm

I decided to record the mileage and amount of fuel I put in at every stop on the Derby 150 tour last weekend including the ride there and back. I'm currently running a TS1 225 with 30mm PHBH on an LTH short manifold and Franspeed Avanti Supertourer and have to say that I'm very pleasantly surprised to find that it averages out at 51.52 MPG, around 11 miles per litre. That's over 439 miles, the best section was from home to meeting up with the other 8 ballers at 55.5 MPG and the worse on the way home with 69 miles into a fierce headwind at 44.8 MPG

Not at all bad for a TS1 8-)

ye I recon its down to the phbh, they are great carbs that are often under estimated. On a reed motor you loose hardly any power but gain loads of MPG compared to things like TMX35's.

my GT250 averages around the same MPG which also has a 30 phbh
