Best seat

Postby Martin FONSC » Sat May 07, 2016 8:47 pm

Any recommendations for a good quality seat that will not kill your ass on a long trip - my old ancillotti has finally given up. need to be able to use with sprint rack. have heard that many new seats are not so comfortable.

Best classic seat is the Pegasus seat , very comfy ... OR buy an air hawk seat cushion
and stick it on any seat for instant comfort. Done a fair few Euro's on mine and money
well spent IMHO. G.

Think it's a bit of a Holy Grail, the mythical seat of no pain. If there was a seat out there that was comfy after an hour's riding then we'd all know about it. Unfortunately there isn't one !! Some are better than others but what suits one person doesn't necessarily suit another.

I'm currently having a seat recovered. I've lowered it slightly to have more foam and it's having a gel-pad fitted as well........cost is £145 but I hope it'll be worth it.

I second that. Probably the best standard seat you'll buy. You could probably use an offset rack on the back as well.

I have a Scootopia on my G.P. and rack will fit, I do most of my riding two up and it does become uncomfortable after an hour or so, may be better for single use where you can move about more, I have never found a comfortable seat yet but Scootopia has been the best so far, I tried gel pads in the past which for me made it worse, think its horses for courses really.

I've found anything with springs is better than all foam.

Alternatively either fit a smaller tank or put less petrol in it!

Serveta Lynx seat is by far the most comfy I have sat on on a Lambretta. That is foam. I went to Gijon and back on it and never felt anything other than comfortable ( and wet ! )

Got a RL Pegasus on my S3 and find that very comfortable, have done 200 mile runs in 'relative' comfort. Picked up one of these for my Eibar, decent amount of foam for a race type seat and so far so good but not done more than 75 miles yet, will test it more this summer...
