SIP Speedo

Looking to buy a SIP speedo, but a bit confused by the sensor options on the website.
They list various speed sensors KOSO SA 07, but as far as i can tell the only difference is the length of cable.
But they also list a bracket for KOSO 07 S type 8MM & 10MM & a bracket for KOSO 07 L type.
I don't see any different sensors?
Also different magnets as well!

So advice please, which is best to get to fit on a GP & where is the best place to fit the sensor (front or back wheel)?

Spud. Longer cable is for rear wheel and the differnt brackets are for mounting in different places.
ill have a look what I ordered and let you know

no don't have a better pic but if I explain then the pic may make more sense.

the bracket you get with the sensor is bolted on at the bottom calliper bolt, the magnet is just placed onto the disk near to where the bolts are that hold the disk on to the hub, then the sensor is adjusted in or out on the grub screw until the end of it is within 5 - 10mm of the magnet.


get the one that has a slightly bigger hole than the bolt that goes in the calliper!

but im sure it all comes with the sensor

did you get the 3mm or 6mm magnet with yours?

6mm, got loads of them, there are about 8 stuck to the bottom of my petrol tank

did mine like this, there was already a hole in the backplate that had been drilled for a scoop

Mine didn't come with a sensor , just been on the site and doesn't show in the pic so I seems they do them separately now.
Just ordered the bits , so any more pics would be helpful guys.

Can you not use the speedo cable thats there already?
I.e. the speedo has a speedo cable socket as per the normal speedo -isn't this for the speed sensor via the normal movement of the cable or have I missed something?

My cable is an Indian one so I'd have to change that anyway Tim.

Hello Eden,
I'm new to the forum, I'm from belgium.
I'm trying to mount an external sensor for SIP counter and I see that in the photo you put you put the sensor directly opposite on the disc.
Could you take a picture of a face so see or look exactly the sensor.
With this active sensor, I think that we should not put magnets?

Was there a resolution to the probelms encountered with running these speedos on a full DC system?

mines works on a wassel conversion

Is there anything special you have to do when wiring it up with a Wassel conversion? I know about the resistor plug, but something else?

Btw, if you have the active version of the Koso sensor, you don't need a magnet - any bolt head or nut will work, you just need to tell the speedo how many nuts equal one wheel revolution.
