J Range fork tool

Postby jonno » Sat Nov 08, 2014 7:54 pm

Is there a fork spring compressor tool available anywhere,if not any tips on assembling the forks? Im currently using a sash clamp, which is ok as things aren't painted yet.

There is a tool available from Casa Lambretta. The bad news is that nobody at the moment seems to know how to use it!

There's an ongoing thread about it over on this forum:

I got the rods and springs out of my Cento forks, by removing the bolt through the link, then removed the buffers, then, with a big screwdriver, levered the rod and spring up, just enough to remove the ball, then there will be no tension on the link, and it can be removed. Once the link is out, the spring and rod can be removed.
I have no idea how I'm going to get them back in though

Yes, that's how I did mine. I don't fancy trying to get them back in the same way with freshly-painted forks ;)
