d engine ld engnie

I need some info got chance of a model D but parts of the engine are missing and have never restored one of these models.. is the LD engine similar,, can you still get engine components,,

The LD engine is the same except for those parts necessary for the bodywork such as the kick start lever, choke actuation, etc. Not all D/LD engines are the same, though. Most of the changes were to the kick start mech but the tranny and other parts also changed over the years. Common replacement parts are available: pistons, cranks, bearings gaskets, seals, clutch discs, etc but other parts can be very difficult to source.
