Model B spark plug?

Postby Thackers » Sun Jan 07, 2024 1:00 am

Hi guys, I'm uncertain as to which spark plug type i should be using in my B.
I know it came to me with a long reach type (BR7ES) and works ok, but browsing all that seems to be offered is a short reach version (BR7HS) So which is the correct one? Thanks for any help 8-) 8-)

19mm is the correct reach. So BR7ES.

The ignition systems are pretty marginal so a non-resistor plug would be a better choice: B7ES.

Apologies if I've got this wrong, but as far as I know all the A, B, C, LC, D & LD models use a short reach plug. Using a long reach plug on these early models runs the risk of putting a dent in the piston crown....

Just had a look at an old model B head in my junk box. It has a 19mm reach plug in it. Extracted the plug and found it was shimmed with washers. Doh! :o
