C2C 2017

Can any committee member confirm the start and finish ?

Byron kindly posted the start as being Seahouses and the finish as being St Bees.

I've contacted the Seacoates Hotel/caravan site and they know nothing about this. More importantly they have no discount rates for the LCGB members.

Saying that the hotel appears to be full, I presume that's with scooterists.

I'm hoping to get a caravan, the 2015 C2C cost £100 but I've just been quoted £170 as there is no discount.

The start and finish was confirmed at the AGM as Seahouses and St Bees respectively.

When I booked straight after AGM on Saturday last week they knew about.

Likely the Seacoate hotel is full by now.

No knowledge of any discount been given every time I have stayed there on C2C

Does anyone know where the nearest camping place is to Seahouses? I can't remember where I booked last time the start point was here and all the places I can find online don't take tents.

I appreciate the hotel is full, so i'm trying for a caravan. When I booked in 2015 I quoted my membership number and they did a 3 roomed caravan for £100. I didn't expect the price to remain the same but I didn't expect it to go to £170. There's 3 of us meant to be going and we weren't budgeting on £60 a night......

TBH the cost of everything is seriously limiting my plans for this year everything seems to have gone up so much. :(

There are some good out of town (Seahouses) B&B in the area if you google for one.

I think we're stopping in Alnwick (not Seahouses).

It's great stopping in these quaint little villages but it's bloody difficult getting accommodation. Looking at stopping 5 mile out of St Bees and 10 mile out of Seahouses.

I think there is a campsite at Springhill farmhouse in Seahouses, I've sent them an e-mail waiting on a response.

Paddy. Looks like it is £13 for the one night on a grass pitch but you can't book online for one night. Must be worried I'm a one man stag do. I booked there in 2015 but had a terminal break down before I got there and needed recovery so never used it.

I didn't contact the hotel directly but on all the "booking" sites it was shown as full on Saturday afternoon. C2C appears to be a victim of it's own success. Being not that far from St Bees [ie Blackpool] I'll just opt to ride straight home on Saturday.

The start and finish points are right. There are rooms available for LCGB members at the Seacote but you need to call to book them.
