RLC GP200

As some of you are aware this GP200 was Preston's aka Georgelemons scooter. It was a 1 owner, totally unmolested original from new GP200.

The original plan for RLC was to do a conserved resto, sadly it was to far gone for this. It was decided to do a pretty much factory resto down to the last nut & bolt. Only the exhaust & down pipe were not factory type finish, my choice along with no front number plates.

As you can see from the first 2 pictures in it's original state, no GP chequered flag was ever applied. Badged correctly as a GP though, one for the experts I think.
The attention to detail really is superb, the gaps, finishes, everything really. Dean took this scooter on at short notice even though he was over loaded with work, cannot thank him & all at RLC for a superb job.

Lovely job but ruined that GP in my opinion. There must have been better candidates to restore, just one of the hundreds of restored GPs out there now.

Your scooter though so as long as you're happy with the result that all that matters.

Nice restoration and not at all 'ruined'. All well and good some saying it should have been left alone and only original once ect but imo these arguments just dont stack up. This GP didnt leave the factory peppered in rust and other decay, original condition it may have been but original as it left the factory it certainly wasnt. Done properly and correctly a factory type restoration is a far better sight to behold than seeing iron oxide eating away at bodywork and UV damaged paintwork.Rimini have done it justice in bringing it back to its original former glory..

beautiful ...brings back some good memories ..me last bike i had was a j plate gp200 i had it from 1972 to 1976 and used it everday for work that didnt have any stickers on legshields
will always have a soft spot for them

Mr G, hopefully catch up somewhere next year, maybe putting some miles on the GP.

As my friend Paul Calder quite rightly pointed out, restos no matter how good are to be ridden. It's easier to put them back to restored than original, something like that anyway .

I have had a lot of poor service from so called reputable dealers over the years, to the point of sometimes calling it a day.
Dean and the gang at RLC have been a breath of fresh air. RLC picked up the scoot last year, we came up with a plan and it was delivered as per that plan. No bullshit, lies, false promises etc etc, you know the score. All correspondence answered, no sourcing parts, chasing painters, quality control issues etc etc. This has been the most stress free dealer experience I have ever had, great people doing exactly what they promise to do. So pleased I am with this service Dean has taken my 1974 registered GP Electronic and original 1964 Luton Lambretta club GT/TV 200, both for restoration. Great service from a superb dealer in my opinion, the reason they are the benchmark.
