I have just bought this baby, it arrived yesterday. Not sure what I will do with it yet, maybe a rustoration job, but will probably just look at it for the mo.
It's totally original, never been stripped.

I would say it needs a little bit of work, but the reason why I bought it is it has never been restored. It has the original battery strap and even what's left of the cable gaitors.
I fancy a rustoration, but the missus can't get her head around it

I reckon that is worth preserving - you can always restore later.

Aye up Mr G, how's it going?
I think your idea might have some legs. I'm fancying the rustoration route, with all mechanicals rebuilt and a tuned unit. Only prob is I'm not sure I can bring myself to tune a totally untouched Italian engine. Maybe buy a kit so I don't have to take a dremel to the top end or source a 200 unit

I would love to Cov, but just starting to build a workshop, floor down just ordering timber and roof. Think this will take me into March before I pick up the tools. Just have a sh!t garage at the mo that all and sundry can see in when I go in and out.

I've got the DC BGM stator, regulator and CDI unit with a mid-weight AF flywheel. The full DC set up is a pleasure, bright lights, loud horn, lights when engine not running and cig' lighter to supply phone and gadgets.

Ta Mick, I hadn't considered DC, but this baby does have the battery tray and even the original battery strap, so that is defiantly an option.
Why did you mix AF & BGM, why not the same make flywheel and stator?

Thats ripe for a full restoration. Take no notice of those that say its only original once, done very carefully and using original parts (and you have plenty of nice original parts there) it can be brought back to factory spec..if that appeals...nice find.. 8-)

sorry only just seen this.....It's Mick from York.........and the BGM flywheel seems to be getting some bad reviews at the moment.
