Panels look good, is that paint or powder coat?

No, Daz. I am leaving the yellow well alone. I like ochre but buttercup yellow scooters are just not my thing. Each to their own :-)

I do have one or two modest additions planned to the paintwork but it'll be a one colour scoot which, in the case of GPs, is what I favour.

Don't expect a quick build as funding the paintjob has cleared me out!

Not got a lot further on in the last few weeks although, hopefully, this will alter in the next couple of weeks. I just need to get to the timber merchants and knock up some sort of low (read - cheap) platform to set it on.

In the meantime, my mate, Rich, sent me this which he took at Seven Sisters in, he thinks, '83:

Thanks, Rich.

I have also just found this on my laptop but I can't recall where I got this one from:

That is either Manby Wheels or the 'alternative Elvington' I believe.

I knocked this up using bits of wood I had laying about, did well until I needed to put the engine in

Actually, I have just remembered that I do have a metal stand up in the loft. That said, last time I used it I did manage to scrape the paintwork quite badly. I was thinking more of something cheap to set the scoot on with stand and engine fitted.

Thanks, Col. You clearly went to advanced woodwork classes LOL

Finally got around to finding time to start this build today. Not a lot to show for most of the day in the garage but at least I have made a start, at last :D

A bit more:

I did do a dry build on most of this after the frame was straightened. But, I didn't put the headset back on and I didn't put the seat frame on. Schoolboy error, the Silme seat frame is not straight and the rewelded Steering lock stop (had been taken off previously when it was a race scoot) needed a major attack with a dremel.

One day I'll sus how to straighten photos up using Scoot Net. Until then, you'll have to continue leaning over :)
