Speedo inner cables

Postby Andy B.L.C. » Wed Apr 12, 2023 1:57 pm

While Italian & Indian cables have different size ends, are all Italian Ser1 - 3 inners interchangeable? Need to replace the Ser1 inner. Many thanks in advance!

I think all Italian speedo inners up to, maybe, early ‘63 are the thinner ended type. Very early Series 3 had the thinner ones ended cables.

if i was you i would change the complete cable ,Outer and inner as i have found different cable diameters also i sell Smiths cables for original chronometric speedos and tachos
and a fair few of cables that originate from the far east the drive /top end is made wrong and when you tighten the knurled nut to secure the cable it pushes the drive spindle into the movement,
and then it costs a lot of money to repair the clock ,

So buy and fit a new matching cable, inner and outer,
