Conrod differences ( not lengtg).

Eh up mi duck, now then I've got a question about con rods that's been on my mind and wondered if anyone can help?? Right so you see loads of crankshafts on the market which are generally called Race or similar, and also conrods with superior quality bearings etc fut build a top spec crank as such. So here is what I'm thinking? There are conrods that are bronze in colour with the edges polished? , the Japanese ones also seem this way. Then others have a bright silver colour rod which looks better, but is it?? I've always looked at the lubrication slots on the big end as important, but what is the difference in these two styles of rod and is one better than the other and if so why?? Many thanks, Speedy.
