Which is the best Front Disk brakes for a LI 150 3 series

Postby Souly50 » Tue Feb 10, 2015 12:14 pm

Hi which type or manufacture of front disk brake is recommended for a series 3 LI 150 or which is most popular I appreciate the range might be vast and all depend on money but what is the one that most people fit. or has the best record for meeting all safety issues. Don't want to spend a load of money on something that someone else has tried and had issues but in the same sense I want to to be able to stop. Any help would be appreciated.

The Scoot RS ones are probably the most popular.

I have a number of hydraulic brakes from various sources - they all work fine (once you have bled them).

If it's standard do you really need a disc brake? A well set up drum can be very effective.

I agree. Took my 150 special (185 Casa fitted) for an Mot yesterday and the examiner commented on how efficient the brakes were, particularly the front.
Good quality shoes with good quality cables correctly adjusted should be sufficient. Unless you are riding a highly tuned machine at high speeds.

If you do go for a hydraulic disc I would get the anti-dive type.........I don't have the anti dive and it can be quite severe if you get it wrong
