fAST FLOW FUEL TAP

Postby sherpadean » Thu Jan 05, 2017 11:35 am

Hi everyone & happy new year,

After fitting a fast flow fuel tap to my standard '66 125 Special I'm having a problem - it works fine but the fuel on/off lever is stiff to turn - I've tried moving the tap in various positions is there a 'knack/trick' or am I missing something? Any advice welcome.

I bet I am not the only one wondering why you have bought a fast flow tap for a standard scooter.

Have you tried turning the whole tap through 90degrees and operating without the complication of the routing? Just to see if the operation is easier.

What make of tap is it ?
Reason I ask is because I've used a few fast flow taps and always get the Italian OMG ones and they've all worked as they should .

some times the screws are over tightened try loosening one of them it may only need less than 1/4 of a turn

Thanks everyone - now sorted it after trying several more positions - it's working well though the fuel lever protrudes a little way [about 1''] from the bodywork but I can live with that in the short term...it's an OMG tap by the way
Again thanks fellow Lammies !

Sometimes the split pin on the universal joint catches on the carb.
