I have a TV2 manifold which is fitted with an extra collar,is this a common mod?
It has 31mm O/D,NOS S3 manifolds have 27.9mm O/D

Back from the crypt :)

I was working on a TV2 today,
orginal manifold is 31mm O/D

It won't fit a SH1/20
In fact it won't fit a SH2/22 either,
next to a GP150 manifold, the GP manifold is smaller.

thats an interesting mod .I would say that the collar has likely been added to allow the fitment of a non standard carburettor perhaps for racing ? i'm thinking maybe Amal ?

I just did a google search and interestingly came up with this reference to a 'larger inlet' series 2 175cc manifold 19.21.1016with a reference to modification .
Hope that it is ok to post a link to this as it is pertinant and Lambretta relevant? apologies if I've got it wrong again

Τhe modified collar has the same O/D as the original,31mm,
I guess that the modified was worn and was out of service,
someone added the collar to make it usable again,
I'm not Mr.Holmes,I might be wrong ;)

could be ..but I can't see the aluminium spigot wearing to any significant extent by the action of the plastic bush in the carb inlet.
its a lot of work to turn a collar on a lathe
how did you come by it may I ask ? was it bought seperately or did it come with an engine you bought

Cheers :)

The manifold is now cleaned, opened and matched to the inlet.

I smoothed the inside

In general I did some porting at the cylinder...

... and the crankcase

Next week,I'll send the cylinder for honing, fit new piston rings and do some extra chamfering.

not wanting to hyjack the thread but seeing as we are talking inlet manifolds ;)

My 150 LiS special 1964 came with a manifold that was stamped with a 175 ? :?
is it likely that it was fitted at the factory ? the engine No is 150Li* 73817#

Nice job on the porting Dimitrios ;)

Thanks,if you look closely,it is the same as the one in the middle,19711004

The official parts catalogue for late S3 models, says that this manifold was for Li150 Special and TV175,so it is the correct one ;)

This is the 'beast' :)

Thanks Dimitrios thats put my mind at rest. They were obviously happy to raid the parts bin for the early Li 150 specials
I had half been hoping that it was a replacement 175 engine but it looks like it is the original engine afterall.
Thank you for the parts table .

This thing you're building truly is a beast ! 250cc ! :o wow you're gonna have to hang on to that one for dear life ...

I use this cylinder the last five (or more) years,
It started it's life, somewhere in England,
I've opened it two extra times to play with the ports,
pics are from the last surgery :)

165 degrees inlet,it is quite thirsty
