Ballpark Jetting suggestion

Postby Rich Oswald » Thu Jun 25, 2015 9:45 pm

Looking for a ballpark jetting for 30mm PHBH on a tuned TS1 with Franspeed supertourer. This has just replaced a 35mm TMX which I was struggling with and have been advised to try this carb'.

At moment it has:-

Main 135
Pilot 55
Choke 70
Slide 40
Float 300
Needle X7
Atomiser AV266

Cheers,

I have a standard TS1 225 with a Supertourer. Li150 gearbox 16/46.

My settings are the same as yours except I have an AV264/x13 2nd clip from top of needle. This is with a RamAir straight on the bellmouth and out through the panel.

It went on a dyno over a couple of years ago and the air/fuel ratio was found to be within accepted limits all the way through the throttle progression.

If yours is tuned, you may want to start with a slightly bigger main jet

I would put at least a 350 float needle in.

Depends on what you mean by tuned but Eden is right, other than that you should be somewhere near.

That's just the point Barry, I don't know myself although you might. I bought the scooter off Gary O'Hagan, it was his Series 2. He didn't seem to know the state of tune, maybe you or Scotty know???

Well in that case!
From what i remember its only mild, not much more than polishing and tidying really. I think i put the top end together for him but im not really sure now :?

Anyway i know its a decent motor with quality parts fitted, you might want to come down a bit on the pilot but leave it how it is now and take it for a spin first and see what its like.
