Carb blocked?

Postby Revvers » Fri Jul 25, 2014 8:20 pm

Hello. Just got my scoot back from the paint shop and on the way home, it broke down. The fuel pipe was full up with shot blast!! Anyway, I'm assuming the carb is all blocked up? Can someone please give me a run down of what to do. Dellorto carb. Thanks

Remove carb place it on clean rag. First check filter, remove ALL jets and mixture screw ( count the turns ). Blast the carb with Carplan carb cleaner. The filter has probably down it's job. Remove tank and do it properly or you will get the same problem in the carb. Clean the tap as well. Put it all back after every hole is cleaned out with an air line if you can obtain one. I use a small plastic pipe and lungs. Good luck.

Thanks Colin. Think the filter stopped most of it, all else cleaned
