Look at your sliding dog, front sprocket and spring. If the spring or the interface between sliding dog and sprocket are worn out, you can get the same slipping clutch sensation under acceleration and load.

I took mine apart and I instantly suspected the sliding dog was warn. I bought a new one and at the same time invested in a new spring too as I knew the history of the engine I'd taken them from (read: generally shagged out :) ).

When I got the new sliding dog, I could see that the old one was well warn down.

I take it you have checked that everything in the clutch separates properly and moves without interference etc etc

Worth checking to see if the kickstart surround is catching the ears of the clutch plates. Most engines have to have a bit ground away to stop this happening.

All sorted, turns out that the springs with the 5-plate clutch were just standard ones, hence the slipping!uprated springs fitted and all sorted, pulls like it should!merry xmas people! :D
