RT195 build- exhaust advice please

Postby Pompeydave » Sat Oct 17, 2015 10:52 am

Hi all, I'm building an RT195 based engine for a mate and he wants a 'race looking pipe' fitted to it. I've tried to persuade him to go for the BGM/MB Clubman, but he wants it to look as racy as possible, but with the best touring characteristics, hence the idea of the RT195 kit.

Any advice as to the best sporty looking pipe that will work well with the RT kit? Cheers...

Have a look on the scooterotica site at their RT kit build thread.

Great, many thanks! Looks like a good kit, but I do wonder if the kit supplied in the thread would have had an MB tuning code etched into it if it had only had the ports cleaned up. Still, interesting read and it's beatifully made.

One thing I can't get my head around is the difference between the MB supplied kits and the SIP kits. Are they now the same? Or was it just the early ones that were different?

MB works with BGM which is Scooter Centre Koln brand.

The kits will be the same but MB might clean his up before dispatch.

Have you looked through the MB website for all of the build info on an RT195.
It's pretty comprehensive, but there does seem to be a lack of info on expansion pipes.
MB have plans to remake the Dev Tour which is suppose to work well.
