Which Strobe?

Hello Gents
I need to strobe my timing as I have fitted a lighted flywheel and have no idea which type of Strobe light to buy or the difference between them, whats best for Lambretta use in your experience?, its a Rapido Classic 225 Kit and AF light flywheel i'm running so posted in this section...

I got a power spark one off eBay for about 15£ you need a battery to run it but worked fine on mine.

I've got a cheap one off Ebay.It has 2 leads,one you plug into the mains and the other fastens on top of the plug.

Same here good unit and easy to use , I made a power pack from an old 12v DC charger

Needs a 12V battery, but gives a bright light and is well made. And cheap. The pick up lead is plenty long enough to clip on the HT lead and allow you to point the gun at the flywheel.

Be mindful that the pick up may be directional and have printed on it something like "spark plug this side".

I'd be surprised if you can get a consistant reading with a lightened flywheel because the engine won't have its usual dampening effect of the heavier ,'normal' weight flywheel.
I've recently bought a Gunstons tachostrobe like this one but I've yet to try it out so afraid I can't recommend it

I bought the Accuspark strobe on Ebay as well. I stood the scooter in front of my car and put the supply leads on the car battery. I was surprised how much difference there is on timing between static and strobe timing.

I also have accuspark of eBay works ok I've used a car battery or even a 12v battery charger you get the same results as a £200 snap on strobe I borrowed of a mate

not seen these in the UK but I'm sure they're available, picked mine up in USA, runs off two D size batteries, cost me about £30
