Trevor S wrote:Hello Rich, Yes, the front mudguard was glass fibre, probably from a GP. Originally the scooter had side panel handle locks - you can see the witness left on the frame.
I suspect the chrome rim type handle bar was stuffed on as a complete assembly because they were available second hand.
In the 60's early 70's there were so many Lambretta's being broken up. In those days our Lambretta's were our only means of getting around.
Without any money We student kept em going by any means.

Trevor S wrote:Hello Rich, Right again, it is a different shape much pointier than my SX200 original, that and remains of baby poo colour paint makes me think it was from a GP. Not sure but didn't the series 3 175's have glass fibre front mudguards at some point?
Apart from my one brand new SX200 I owned nine Lambretta's during mid 60's early 70's all acquired as cheap wrecks. Among them was a 175 don't remember the front mudguard though. All my experience is from that time and there is a hell of a lot later Lambretta know how to pick up! Love this Forum.

So the extra one's acquired will go on evil-bay, along with the chrome ring type bars.
The scooter is now complete and running for the first time since 1979. Looking just as it came from Lambretta Concessionaire's.
I now need to re register it as DVLA destroyed records of it.

I own a 1966 SX 200 in all white colour with red seat. Can anyone please tell me when it was originally built/produced were the front fork dampers/shocks painted in white or silver? If silver, does anyone know exactly what colour, and/or where I can buy an original, correct colour, set from.
Many thanks in anticipation.

Apologies, but I cannot find the answer to the original colour of the front fork dampers in the link you posted. I am new to this forum so maybe I am missing something or not looking in the right section.

nickw wrote:Hi, not sure how many people now look at this section but I have a query someone might know. What colours were SX200 seats on the scooters originally brought over here in the 60's. My understanding it wasn't oxblood red yet many people use that colour. What make were the seat frames? Again there seems to be different seats used but I cannot establish what years. I assume Noemi Rossa for the early scooters (? following on from TV200 and then Giuliari ) Also what colour would the kickstart rubber and stand feet be please. I have looked through Vittorio's books but the info isn't there
cheers
