Just got my LD on the lift to sort out a few issues from summer use...could do with some pointers;
Had an oil leak from Kick start housing, which initially I thought was due to me overfilling the gearbox...however on close inspection it looks like there's oil coming via the lower kick shaft housing..right at the back in the casing where the end of the shaft sits, No seal there ,so is it a crack? Have a look at the pic attachment of the lower kickstart casing hole.
And as a reminder is it about 1/2 pint in the gearbox of SAE30?
The kick starter pinion unit (in the upper hole) is all good and no leak, oil only coming from the lower hole in the casing.
Last one..rear bevel gear, got a oil leak, so took the cap off the end of the drive shaft casing and need to sort the gasket out.
Think this needs SAE140? About 1/4 pint from memory? Cheers
