Technical help for Series one, two and three Lambrettas. Models include the Li, Li Special, TV, SX, GP, Serveta and API/SIL models

Recently picked up a good Innocenti SX/GP 150 top end and original Borgo piston. However didn't come with a gudgeon pin. Not a problem as I have a couple of decent examples to choose from. Problem is all of them are mega-tight to the point of not even being able to get the pin in the piston at all. Any tips to help this? don't want to go bonkers and try and grind/rub etc and bugger it up when there might be a more accurate and effective way of doing this? Thanks Paul

Maybe but I'd like there to be a little more insertion ( oo er
) with the pin.

Jap pistons & Wossner have a lot of slack re-gudgeons, but original pistons were allways a tw*t, just heat the piston up bud

Only needs a quick blast with a hot air gun.

Yep... a hot piston and a freezered gudgeon pin. Always a bit easier to assemble if the cylinder studs are removed.
