I don't think that it is a "stupid question" but you will need a condenser that has the same physical size & rating as the OEM Filso to locate in the existing place for it. (It's worth replacing the cheese head slotted screws with SHCS's especially for the contact breaker as adjustment & ensuring tightness is so much easier)
If you wanted to go into the in's & out's of relocating the condenser, then this may help you understand that it's function is not dependent upon whereabouts it is sited
viewtopic.php?t=7067A quick google threw up Filso condensers on eBay etc but AF Rayspeed used to be very affordable last time I bought. You might like to check that you have an
unsuppressed spark plug cap whilst you are @ it as Ray has excellent Champion caps & plugs which I admit my bias towards, having had far too many of the most popular brand fail. If you can, also ensure the HT lead is copper cored & not too aged.
