It's the TS1, mate. Done nothing with it since I stripped the scoot. The GT is in the garage under wraps. All the best, col :D

I managed to get most of the cabling and wiring done today although I can't finish as I am awaiting some more brass bullet connectors.

I used to run an external QAT but am going with an internal one this time as it looks neater.

Throttle cable sorted (always a pfaff with a big tank in the way) and exhaust back on.

The non-colour coordinated fiberglass rear mudguard and rear shock will, of course, be obscured by the panels.

Yes, mate. I'd like to say it's a concession to comfort :?

I do like the look of a standard GP seat though.

You won't blag being under 40 then if you remember the LP ;-)

New hydraulic hose arrived today. Should be picking up re zinced brake pedal on Friday so, maybe, I'll have it running this weekend. That said, doubtless one of these 5 minute jobs will take a full afternoon - (Brake bleeding anyone?)

I like to work to rough deadlines. The current one is to have it running up and down the street by the time of the agm. That'll be with a folded newspaper for a seat cover though :-)

Well, managed to find a couple of hours to get to get the fiddliest job left sorted - bleeding the hydraulic brake.

I invested in a new longer hose to follow the line of the speedo cable as this makes it easier to drop the wheel with the hose still attached. I have found this helps when bleeding the brake. Keeping the caliper on its side appears to leave an airlock in there whereas placing it on its back, like in the photos below, stops this. You'll also see I go for the swaged type banjos so there's no chance of them coming off (this happened to me once and was a bit scary).

You'll also see I take the lever off and pump the master cylinder with a pencil (a tip I got of this forum a few years back). It allows you to pump the piston all the way (the lever doesn't do this) and get rid of all the air bubbles. That said, it still took me a good 45 minutes to get the brake sorted. Sometimes they work almost straight away, sometimes not.

Anyway, just thought I'd share this in case it helps anyone.

Mind you don't ground your cable or hose on right handers!

Bleeding from the lowest point 'uphill' is the easiest method by far as you are then purging any air as you load the slave, line & master with fluid. You have to ensure that you move the slave about to encourage any air pockets to go up the line, but it really is so much quicker. Otherwise, you end up pushing any air 'downhill' as I'm sure most people find! Another advocate on the 'uphill' method is Sir Sticky who has elaborated on the subject better than I can.

I like the crimped hose which is very neat. Does your slave have a rubber dust cover inside as per MSC's (of old) cylinders? They don't seem to be obtainable anymore. I wondered how you might be stopping the ingress of dust.

Yes, the angle of the banjo (which obviously i can't adjust) just pushes the hose out a bit. I have just been messing about with it this morning. I believe it is just about OK. The camera angle makes it look a bit worse than it is. There is a dust cover too ;-)

I found that the grub screw arrangement on the calliper made it impossible to feed the DOT4 uphill. Normally, on an outboard system, I do as you suggest and feed it uphill via a syringe.

Had a couple of nightmares with scratching paintwork this morning so I have walked away from it for today :-(

I see what you're saying about the bleed screw, with it not being a 'proper' hollow one with a nipple for the tube to fit.

I think I would try & source one for future. What thread is it, do you know? Is it a conical point screw? I might have a few somewhere in the garage...

I thought about that when I bought it about 5 years ago but, that time, I managed to fill and bleed the system in about 15 minutes!

Thanks very much for the offer :-) However, you have no chance of me taking the grub screw out to find the pitch now the system is set. I don't want to touch it for another couple of years ;-)

Thanks again
Paul
