My Lost and found selection

Postby bamrattle » Sat Nov 01, 2014 11:12 pm

Now the busy season has come to an end & the forum seems more stable with better veiwing attendance aswell.
I thought its time to share some of my lost/archive pics from some of the adventures this yr that i didnt get chance to upload.
So starting with the Lejog selection.

Thursday 22nd May
Christchurch/Ferndown to St Ives Cornwall
Thursday morning see's Me & Dom loaded and ready to meet up with mickyb

Image

The 3 Wisemen all loaded with everything we could carry no backup van for us. St ives cornwall here we come

Image

Somewhere down the A30 near Indian Queens mid afternoon after a wheel change on mine at honiton. We had some heavy Rain showers on route but just pressed on thinking "things can only get better"
Oh how wrong could we be !!

Image

A good days riding done we arrived at our digs for the night, a yha manor house cheap, cheerfull & no frills

Image

Image

Stunning veiws

Image

Dom finds a new scoot

Image

After a hearty evening meal and catch up on the days ride we turned in..

Friday 23rd Lands end to warwick 300mls 8am start
So after a good nights sleep we head off on the short run down to Lands end and start

Image

A daunting thought 874mls ! .....But Fookin ell what a challenge facing us ...

Image

Just what you need at lands end

Image

No civilisation here

Image

Image

Image

Not sure whats going through the lads minds at this point.. Toot looking out to sea.. "I see no ships he say's" I reply "No Only hardships" and looking at the wetness on the ground i was right.

Image

We take up our place under the well know pitcure post

Image

Assembly time for the brave

Image

Toot and michael looking fresh despite having ridden down over the previous days.

Image

Were all away 8am sharp, an by the time we get 10mls out of StIves we hit the monsoon that stays over head most of the day..
After a long miserable wet days ride, we arrived at Leamington fc Warwickshire and signed off. On arrival at our digs micky had a broken end can bracket to change so that done and wet gear hung up drying we headed out for food

Morning arrives all too soon and Doms made a Nest Image
claiming hes not coming out if its raining.. Well lucky for him & us it wasn't at that time so were all dressed and packed, quick breakfast snack then off to the start.

Saturday 24th May Warwickshire to Kelso 300mls

1st to arrive and its dry

Image

Not for long as we stop at out 1st 50ml fuel stop for the day

Image

Lunchtime & fuel stop somewhere up the A1 near Bawtry

Image

Still raining

Image

Another wet day done see's our arrival at jedburgh and a nice Hotel this time. Wet gear off and in the hotel boiler room we headed off for food and beers.

Sunday 25th May Jedburgh to Fort william 9.30am start 180mls

Not much to report today only Doms throttle cable snapped, and the weather was kinder to us

And heres a big thanks to Kirstie bond for offering to be backup in the lcgb spares van.
Lucky for us and as allways we were at the back of the pack who do we spy coming over the horizon but kirstie.. With new cable fitted we all headed through the glen co mountains.
To fort william.
Our digs for the night were at a log cabin holiday park.. Again no frills just good value

Monday 26th May Fort William to John O Groats 180mls 9.30am start

Bright an early start we headed into fort william for breakfast and the start point of this our last day..

1st fuel stop in this retro Station

Image

Image

As we rode along Lock Ness look who we saw coming up for a breather

Image

After the lovely start the weather gods are upon us again

Image

Pressing on to the finish we hit some of the worst weather the big man could bestow upon us, But with the finish line in sight we just huckered in and plodded along..
After a couple on emergency fuel stops along the A9 and trying to avoid the grim weather, plus calling into wick airport to sort our van out for the trip home later that evening.
We ended up being passed by everyone even Kirstie.
So we were the last to arrive at John O Groats but everyone had waited for us and greated us with a big cheer..
Not wanting to delay anyone further We headed straight for the finish pole and pics
