Well I suppose a helmet sack is one option but that's not exactly what I had in mind.....

I make and use these leg shield bags. Great for oil and maps and easy to get to tools etc etc . + do not affect balance over front wheels like
a rack does...... + waterproof . 8-) G 8-) .

This season I've been using an Oxford motorbike tank bag. It has magnetic pads that wrap onto the front edge of the side panels and it's expandable so fills the gap nicely. Its worked a treat really, I'll have a search about and see if I can find a piccy.

That sounds a great idea, a pic would be great and balanced nicely

I am trying to visualise the expandable tank bag described above. So does it sit vertically across your toolbox door, and the "wings" of the tank bag wrap around the front of the legshields, secured with their magnets? if so, I can see how the tank bag can extend into the remaining gap between the top fot he bag and the inside of the legshields.

Neat.

I have a 12mm pipe bender and can make one off racks. I've just made one for my son's SS90 and quite enjoyed manufacturing it, and then thought I could offer this service to others and make a bit of money. I then realised I'd spent about 10 hours building the first rack, and it still needed chroming. I can't see someone paying me £300 for a custom-built rack, can you?

The whole magnet thing confused me at first then I reread it and he says 'wraps around the side panels' so it sits in front of the tool box door. It now makes sense to me.

Here 'tis lads.

Sorry its not pasted properly but I've spent far too long already trying to get it on here while doing battle with some nasty little pop up on photobucket and the dog is pestering me to take him for a walk so I'm off.

Anyway, the tank bag is hardly revolutionary but it fits a treat and makes use of the redundant space betwixt headset and bollock area.

Cons = hinders access to reserve tap and brake pedal.
