I have no personal experience of painting over powder coat but plenty of people have had frames blasted and powder coated to save on priming. Personally, if I was after a quality job I would want a decent primer in direct contact with the metal.

Most blast companies wont touch something thats been powder coated.........to difficult to remove the powder coating through blasting.
