Front Dampers

Postby landybretta » Tue Feb 17, 2015 6:15 pm

I need to replace the front dampers on my LI Special (185) fitted with standard drum brake.
Has anyone used the MRB non adjustable ones>

Shock absorber (shocker, damper) front, Pair Silver, retro slim type, non-adjustable.

BGM 6Ts style front shock absorbers to be used with gaiters.

These dampers are not adjustable, but are set up to give the same dampening rate like the BGM adjustable front dampers.

I have a set on my series 1, although I have not been out on the road yet to try. They seemed have a nice smooth action when operated by hand not at all notchy like the Indian escort type
A good upgrade over standard if you don't feel the need for adjustable ones.

I fitted them to my S2 a couple of hundred miles ago. They replaced a set of Indian (non-Escort) dampers. They are an improvement but, in my case, I think they have highlighted that I need a better rear shock.

Probably a bit too early to give an unqualified thumbs up but I wouldn't put anyone off buying a set.

Indian escorts for over 10 years now and never had a problem.
