So I was about to fit the gearbox, but went to the pub instead!

So eventually got round to it........

Image

Used MB parts
Image

And AF cassette clutch
Image

All stripped
Image

Various large shims were tried
Image

Shimmed up with a 0.2 mm clearance and a 1.6 mm large shim.
Image

Then checked for fifth gear and cluster alignment.
Image

Gearbox assembled
Image

And with chain and clutch fitted!

Added an air scoop to the front hub, I'm going to mount the reed relay speed sensor from the Gamma Technologies RSTE 1000 unit to it so it moves with the suspension, rather than fixing it at the fork link pivot point.

Ta!

So it's been a while since I updated this thread cos I've been waiting for parts, but it's getting there!

So after I scratched the headset putting the steering lock in I decided to have the innocenti headset welded up to blank off the steering lock! I don't ever rely on it anyway!

Image

Also I chickened out of painting the tanks and other tinware under the panels a bright colour and simply went for basalt Black!

Image

Just a few things to do, such as bleed the front brake, put oil in it, fit the Mtech unit, jet the carb appropriately and get it registered.
