Im not a fan of cars on rallies at all, but a vehicle used for back up purposes makes sense to many, I can only imagine how worried your kids were, when the wife was injured after a spill, but surely you still riding the scooter is a risk and worry to them...?????

Im sure you`ll enjoy whichever event you end up at the weekend of the 11th ... I will look out for you at the York SC event, or failing that the Wearside Wanderers, and Llandudno National both look very good rallies beforehand..

Ride safe pal[/quote

cant do york as it is scoot only hoping to do wearside if its not sold out def llandudno derby and 4 nations
kids havent mentioned anything about me on scoot but wife gets well stressed out

only thing i have about cars on rallys is i dont like them on the camping area mainly because i dont want to listen to their choice of music

The "point of principle" that was/is the only reason for not supporting the event has been shown to be nonsense so lets forget about the odd moan and not spoil the thread that should be concentrating on the details of a fantastic weekend.

Its rare we all have the opportunity to enjoy so many scootering activities all in one place ................ and all run by separate bodies / National clubs / Affiliated clubs and solo scooterists who have pulled together to run a national scooter rally fit for everyone.

Personally I think that's what we should be discussing and celebrating :D ...................... All we need now is the weather to be kind and it should be a great weekend.

Lincoln is always a superb event and no doubt this one will be of the same ilk.
I only have time out of the year to do one (at a push two) events the main one will always be the Euro for me and for two reasons use a van, one being my Tv is show only (hardly, never been a secret!) and the other logistically impossible to do the mileage involved each year, this year being over 7000 km without the aid of four wheels within my very short time scale, however,to baulk at a charge of just 22euros to park would just be plain daft considering the fairly vast expense of doing the event in the first place (1K euros in fuel alone).
Same as Lincoln, what price can be put on a great weekend? Its certainly worth vastly more than a paltry £15 parking fee, dont drink or smoke so not up on prices but whats that? Two packets of fags? Four pints of lager? Only live once, youre a long time dead.....all in my (humble) opinion of course.......

Couple of questions answered and updates

There are no electrical hookups available-there are loads on site but they cost so much to have connected, we could not reasonably pass on the cost.
Car parking charges -If LCGB want to play the National Rally game then we will have to play by some National Rally rules. Cars are allowed on site at Nationals and charges are made. Significantly higher charges than at this event in some cases.

Cars/ caravans/ motor homes and anyone who travels by scooter who wants to camp with friends who didn't will be accommodated in a large area within around three hundred metres of all main venues and amenities (same are as last Lincoln Rally) Toilet blocks are in this area and showers are again around 300 meters away.

Scooter only camping areas including the quiet/family area are at the other side of the main showground buildings in the countryside area used for the Euro IN 2009. This is a beautiful landscaped area backing on to woodland and open countryside and the nearest edge of this area is less than 50 metres from main event buildings, food outlets and showers.. Other than the possible view in the distance of the Dealer vehicle car park you should not be able to see a 4 wheeled vehicle from this camping area.

We hope that we have created a traditional scooter only camping area in a great location and also catered for those who choose for whatever reason, not to travel to the event on a scooter.

Reminder-no dogs on site.

Bands-Friday Basket Case-Saturday Blistered.

Music and bars on the terrace overlooking the custom show and fun and games in the main parade ring on Saturday.

There will be some onsite rules that we will have to implement as part of the event licence including-
No glass or bottles in the entertainment venues.
Site speed limit 5mph (except for the sprint track !!)
No vehicle movements from dusk until dawn-around 10 30 pm to 4 30 am
3 metre gap between tents

Apart from service/emergency vehicles-Absolutely no non 2 wheeled vehicles will be allowed within the scooter only camping and main event buildings area-it is important to the Lambretta Club Great Britain that we cater for all who wish to attend this event but we will also make every effort to make sure that the main areas of the site, LOOK, SOUND AND SMELL LIKE A SCOOTER RALLY.

Updates to follow as we get them and event program in the next few days.

Any queries call me on 07758 195192

Cheers

Looking forward to this one now as wasn't going due to work, but I can now do the Friday and all day Saturday as working Saturday night unfortunately. At Cleethorpes last weekend I was quite surprised to hear one or two individuals saying that they weren't going to Lincoln because it is the same as the last one, LCGB MEMBERS ONLY  ! I did interrupt and inform them of the facts. Seems they had some strange notion that it was members only, god knows how but they did. One other lad did think it was a VFM as the flyer has the vfm logo on it. Although wrong, I could see how he maybe could of thought that. See you all there folks and ride safe,Speedy..

lol I was just the opposite, I just assumed it was organised by the VFM due it it being a national rally!
Either way it doesn't matter as I'm not going. I was at Cleethorpes last weekend and can't do Nationals two weekends on the trot! I will however be at llandudno.

BTW, thanks to the organisers of Cleathorpes national scooter rally, the wife and I had a great weekend....well done guys!

VFM don't run all National Scooter Rallies, never have done, Cleethorpes last weekend for example was/is run by Mansfield Monsters and Olympics SC. I guess people don't read the adverts and/or are quick sometimes to jump to the wrong conclusion as earlier on in the thread.
Ive never really understand the confusion in all honesty ............... Most National Rallies are well advertised and the last Lincoln National was also open to everyone :? (That was also a national rally). The only time Lincoln has ever been member only was when the LCGB hosted the Euro Jamboree which by nature is a National Lambretta Club Member Only Event. Although even that caused a bit of hassle from non members who thought they had the right to attend !

Hope everyone travelling by scooter have a safe journey and a fantastic weekend .......... Just waiting for the usual atmosphere hover to post the weather forecast

No charge, but a donation to the LCGB supported charity for 2015 - The Alzheimers Society, would be welcome each time you have a blast down the lane.

Yes, you can turn up and attempt to blow up your scooter  :o
